The customer's challenge

The industry's demand for cooling water is extensive, and with it comes the challenge of purifying the water effectively before it is returned to the environment — or reused in the process.

The solution

The project used our bioreactor in a biological treatment system. The bioreactor creates an efficient environment for microorganisms with a unique ability to absorb and transform nutrients, metals and pollutants through natural biological processes — an energy-efficient, environmentally friendly approach to cooling water treatment.

Eden Aquatech was the main supplier of bioreactors in this major project for a Swedish company in the metal industry. The project was carried out in multiple stages.

The result

The cooling water is effectively purified and can be reused in the industrial processes or discharged into nature in compliance with environmental regulations. The advantages of the bioreactor-based approach carried through the whole project: no chemicals, effective reduction of nitrogen, phosphorus and heavy metals, minimal energy consumption — and a solution that scales with the plant's needs.
