Water quality measures at Vågevatnet
A saltwater-influenced lake with oxygen-depleted bottom water and hydrogen sulfide releases. Three strategically placed aerators restored oxygen to the deep zone.
The customer's challenge
Vågevatnet is a small lake influenced by saltwater, with oxygen-depleted bottom water, periodic releases of hydrogen sulfide gas into the surroundings, and high algal growth. The root cause is a strong stratification between the heavy saltwater at the bottom and the lighter freshwater at the surface.
Several measures were evaluated — from converting the lake to freshwater with a threshold at the outlet, to oxygenating the bottom water directly.

The solution
After an inspection and review of the report, the customer chose Eden Aquatech's solution: three AirTURBO RV2 units strategically placed approximately 40 meters apart, ensuring optimal oxygen distribution throughout the lake's deep zone.
