Cooling water treatment

Water that cools machines, industrial processes and power plants absorbs heat and often picks up chemicals. We cool and clean it before discharge — or bring it back into your process.

Cooling water is used to cool processes in industry, energy production and other operations. It can be sourced from lakes, seas or groundwater, and is returned to the environment after being heated.

Power plants, factories and other facilities use cooling water wherever excess heat needs to be dissipated. That heat itself affects the receiving environment — and depending on the process, the water may also pick up chemicals and other pollutants that must be removed before discharge.

Biological treatment with bioreactors

An innovative and sustainable approach to cooling water is biological treatment with our HolKof™ bioreactor. The bioreactor creates an efficient environment for microorganisms with a unique ability to absorb and transform nutrients, metals and pollutants through natural biological processes — an energy-efficient, chemical-free path to water that can be reused in your process or discharged in compliance with environmental regulations.

Eden Aquatech has been the main supplier of bioreactors in a major cooling water project for a Swedish company in the metal industry, where the treatment was implemented in stages and the purified water could be reused in the industrial process.
