Aquatic restoration & microbiological water management
Eutrophic lakes rarely recover on their own. Together with the Clean Water Alliance, we restore the underlying biological processes — without harmful chemicals.
Eden Aquatech collaborates with Sjuntorp Oljelänsor and Microbe Biosolutions ApS within the framework of the Clean Water Alliance. Through this Nordic partnership, we combine our expertise to solve complex challenges in aquatic environments.
Why do so many aquatic environments have poor water quality?
The issues of eutrophication and oxygen depletion are rarely isolated. They are typically the result of a disrupted balance between nutrient loading, sediment chemistry and microbial activity. Traditional methods such as dredging or chemical precipitation often only address the symptoms. Natural balance restoration focuses instead on restoring the underlying biological processes — without the use of harmful chemicals.

Inlet treatment — stopping nutrient leakage at the source
To achieve long-term stability in large systems, we focus on reducing the input of nitrogen and organic matter before it reaches the open water body. By establishing a biological "engine" at the inlet, we create an active barrier that continuously reduces the nutrient load:
- Zoning with flow control. Using floating baffles, we create a controlled treatment zone at the inlet, forcing the water through the biological process before it disperses into the lake.
- Microbial nitrogen reduction. BioS-3 cultures and HolKof™ bioreactors at inlet points effectively lower ammonium and nitrate levels directly in the inflow.
- Management of accumulated phosphorus. Where sediments are already saturated with phosphorus, we combine microbiological stabilization of the inflow with strategic precipitation over the sediment areas — ensuring the system does not relapse into internal loading once the chemical effect diminishes.
Acute intervention — when the balance fails
When a lake tips into oxygen depletion, speed matters. Our AirTURBO™ aerators can be deployed within days as an emergency measure — in one municipal project, oxygen levels more than quintupled within a month of installation.
